SLP Level 3 Preparation
(STANAG 6001)
SLP Level 3 preparation is designed for Armed Forces NCOs and officers who need to demonstrate advanced, operational-level communication in English in accordance with the STANAG 6001 framework.

This level is typically required for command positions, multinational staff roles, advanced deployments, and senior career progression.
SLP Level 3 does not assess general fluency or academic language.
It assesses whether the candidate can communicate effectively in complex and less predictable military and professional situations.

The examiner expects the candidate to be able to:
-
Deliver structured and coherent briefings
-
Justify decisions clearly and logically
-
Discuss complex and abstract topics
-
Maintain clarity and accuracy under pressure

Fluency alone is not enough.
Precision, organisation, and control are required.
Why candidates fail Level 3
Many candidates fail SLP Level 3 despite having strong English skills, due to recurring issues:
-
Fluent but poorly structured responses
-
Inability to organise complex information clearly
-
Opinions or explanations not supported or justified
-
Loss of accuracy and control under pressure
-
Preparation focused on general or advanced English, not SLP Level 3 criteria

The problem is not fluency.
The problem is failing to demonstrate controlled, operational-level communication in line with the standard.
What our teaching focuses on
Focus on real exam tasks, aligned with STANAG 6001:
-
Structured, coherent briefings in complex contexts
-
Clear justification of decisions and recommendations
-
Analysis and discussion of complex or abstract topics
-
Responses aligned with what the examiner is actually assessing at Level 3

This training does not include:
-
Free conversation without operational purpose
-
Academic or theoretical English
-
Content that is not assessed in the SLP

Every exercise has one objective: passing SLP Level 3.
Who the course is for:
People who
-

Clear, direct correction

The goal is not to “learn more English.”
