SLP LEVEL 2 2.2.2.2
SLP Level 2 Preparation
(STANAG 6001)
SLP Level 2 preparation is designed for Armed Forces NCOs and officers who need to demonstrate operational communication ability in English in line with the STANAG 6001 framework.

This level is commonly required for promotion, overseas courses, standard deployments, and participation in multinational exercises.

SLP Level 2 does not assess academic English or informal conversation.
It assesses whether the candidate can communicate independently, clearly, and effectively in familiar and predictable military professional contexts.

The examiner expects the candidate to be able to:
-
Take part in routine briefings
-
Explain procedures and tasks clearly
-
Report events and incidents
-
Interact functionally in multinational environments
-

Perfection is not required.
Clarity, structure, and control are.
Why candidates fail Level 2
Many candidates fail SLP Level 2 despite “speaking good English” due to recurring issues:

-
Answers that are long but unclear
-
Lack of logical structure
-
Correct language used without clear communicative intent
-
Difficulty explaining processes in an organised way
-
Preparation based on general English, not SLP criteria

The problem is not vocabulary.
The problem is failing to demonstrate operational competence according to the standard.
What our teaching focuses on
On real exam tasks, aligned with STANAG 6001:

-
Short, structured briefings
-
Clear explanation of procedures and routines
-
Accurate reporting of situations and events
-
Responses aligned with what the examiner is actually assessing
This training does not include:
-
Free conversation without purpose
-
Academic or theoretical English
-
Content that is not assessed in the SLP

Every exercise has one objective: passing SLP Level 2.
Who the course is for
It is for people who:
-
Need SLP Level 2 to progress professionally
-
Have failed previously and need to correct specific weaknesses
-
Have professional experience but do not control the exam format
-
Want efficient, results-focused preparation
Preparation is based on:
-
Real SLP / STANAG 6001 assessment criteria
-
Military and professional contexts
-
Disciplined, exam-focused training
-
Clear, direct correction

The goal is not to “learn more English.”
The goal is to demonstrate the required level and close the requirement.
